Honest Tea review and giveaway!

Honest Tea has been brewing up great tasting, lightly sweetened teas since 1998. All are USDA certified organic, high in antioxidants, and low in calories. They do not use any artificial sweeteners, relying instead on just a touch of organic sugar or honey, and the natural sweetness of some of the ingredients, like peaches! Mike and I sampled a variety of the flavors, and we were particularly delighted by the Pomegranate White Tea and the Peach White Tea.
Honest Tea also has a line of organic ades, thirst quenchers that are refreshing without being overly sweet. We liked the Limeade flavor a lot, and the Cranberry Lemonade was really tasty too. Actually, all the flavors are quite good, but Mike and I really like the ones that have a bit of a tart kick to them. I’m leary of any sweetened drinks, and usually drink my teas unsweetened, but I found these very good. Mike likes drinks that are a bit sweeter than I do, and he liked them all too. Amazing that both of us could be satisfied :-)
There are several flavors that are packaged for kids’ lunch boxes too, complete with straw and low sugar content! These beverages are available at Target, Whole Foods, and Sam’s Clubs.

Water balloon fights. Every year…
Me: Water balloons!
Dad: You’re too old for those…
Me: Psh, yeah right. Never too old for water balloons!
Dad: But you are 2(1/2/3)…

We bought a kiddie pool this year. Of course, my 1 year old would rather play with the garden house than sit in the pool. Oh well, more room for mommy and daddy!

I get out of the work clothes the second I get home and into a tank top and shorts. The hair goes up in a ponytail, also. This helps keep me cool without having to turn the AC down to 72 degrees (we try really hard to keep it at 80!)

We stopped using our central air. If it gets too steamy, we cool one room with a window unit. We have a small house surrounded by huge oak trees. The rest of the time, the ceiling fans keep up cool.

At this time of year I just stay indoors a lot - we don’t have air conditioning, but out log house holds out the heat well. Later in the summer, I go swimming in the river.

I head to the local pool! *splash* Or have a picnic/reading session in the shade of our big maple tree in our backyard. Sure would be better with iced tea though! :D

The best way to beat the heat, other than iced tea (my favorite) is to go for a swim or have an icecream cone!

My favorite way to cool off during the hot summer months is to enjoy either iced tea on the deck or to have a mixture of iced tea and lemonade (Arnold Palmer). Nothing is as refreshing on a hot and humid day.

Ugh. Summer in Missouri means lots of humidity. I definately don’t cook much, we keep our ceiling fans running, and I dress accordingly and put my hair up! (and drink Iced tea - with a book on the porch swing when there is a breeze)

I sweat to beat the heat. I don’t fight it, I let nature take it’s course. Works like a charm too. With in seconds of the first bead of sweat popping out on my forhead i start to feel cooler. Add that to an oscillating fan and you have the worlds best a/c.
